Moorings Park, a nationally accredited, nonprofit, Medicare certified community and the only A+ Fitch and Standard & Poors rated Life Plan Community in the country, operates under the aegis of Moorings Park Institute, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation and the parent board that has overseen the development of Moorings Park since it was founded more than 35 years ago.
Moorings Park has been repeatedly acknowledged as Southwest Florida’s premier retirement community and is the only Life Plan Community located in the City of Naples. Moorings Park’s holistic approach to living well and continuum of care are provided at a predictable and affordable cost with no increase in monthly fees if a change in the level of care is required.
The Moorings Incorporated Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing the operations of Moorings Park and all its entities, including the 83-acre Moorings Park campus at 120 Moorings Park Drive in Naples, and the Moorings Park at Grey Oaks campus located north of the intersection of Golden Gate Parkway and Airport-Pulling Road in Naples.

We are pleased and honored to announce the addition of the outstanding new members to the Moorings Park Institute and the Moorings Incorporated boards. They bring an exceptional level of talent and experience and we are deeply thankful for their willingness to serve.”
The four additions include, Alan Reynolds, Vice President of Stantec Consulting Services, Attorney Richard Grant, Derrick Ayers, Chief Financial Officer of Lutgert Insurance, and Clark Hill, General Manager of the Hilton Naples.
“They are each deeply devoted to the key values of Moorings Park, particularly the Social Accountability Program that is the foundation of our not-for-profit model,” stated Lavender. “We define Social Accountability by our commitment to our mission, stakeholders, and the greater community. ALAN REYNOLDS
The Moorings Park Institute, Inc.
Alan Reynolds, AICP, is Vice President of Stantec Consulting Services, a global engineering, planning and design firms with more than 22,000 employees in 400 locations. He serves as the United States Sector Leader for Community Development, which includes more than 800 planning, engineering and design professionals across the country.
Reynolds formerly served as Chairman and CEO of WilsonMiller, one of Florida’s top-ranked multi-disciplined design firms, and led the merger of WilsonMiller with Stantec in 2010. During his tenure as CEO, WilsonMiller was recognized five times among the 100 Fastest Growing Design Firms in the US, twice named the EDC’s Best Place to Work, the Uncommon Friends Foundation Business Ethics Award, the Community Foundation’s Corporate Philanthropy Award, and the Urban Land Institute’s Award of Excellence.
His areas of expertise include environmental design, land use and planning, strategic land studies, regional planning, feasibility studies, master planning, and rural land stewardship.
Reynolds is a Certified Planner with the American Institute of Certified Planners, and a member of the American Planning Association. He is also a Full Sustaining Member of the Urban Land Institute, and is currently a member of the ULI Florida Community Development Product Council. Reynolds has served nationally on the ULI Community Development Council and Development Regulations Council. He received the Urban Land Institute’s inaugural Pathfinder Award in 2001 for “Vision and Commitment to the Community”, and recently served as the Governor’s Appointee to the Southwest Florida Regional Planning Council.
Reynolds attended Miami University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Design. He studied abroad at London’s Architectural Association and was an AFS exchange student in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
RICHARD GRANT

Richard C. Grant has been engaged in the private practice of law in Florida since 1973. He and his wife Elaine, have lived in Naples since 1979. Their children are both successful professionals who were educated in Collier County public schools where Elaine taught first grade for many years.
Grant is the senior member and president of Grant Fridkin Pearson, P.A., an established Naples law firm. He is board certified as a real estate lawyer by The Florida Bar and has twice served on and chaired the Real Estate Certification Committee of The Florida Bar, and has received recognition as an accomplished lawyer from his peers.
He has also served as a member of the board of directors, and as the chairman, of several organizations such as the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, Collier County Economic Development Council, Southwest Florida Economic Development Alliance, and Southwest Florida Land Preservation Trust.
In 2014, he was recognized as the Naples Daily News Citizen of the Year. Prior to attending law school, he served on active duty as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army and was awarded the Bronze Star and the Combat Infantryman’s Badge.
DERRICK AYERS

Derrick Ayers joined Lutgert Insurance as Chief Financial Officer in May 2016. Prior to joining Lutgert, Ayers was Regional Chief Financial Officer for Fifth Third Bank in South Florida. He worked for Fifth Third in progressive finance capacities for 10 years starting in the Kentucky market in 2006.
Prior to joining Fifth Third, Ayers had varied finance and accounting experience with public and private companies as controller/treasurer of a construction company and as an Audit team member with the global Big 4 accounting firm Ernst & Young in Louisville, Kentucky.
Since arriving in Naples, Ayers has been an engaged and active member of the Naples Community. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Naples Chamber of Commerce and the Partnership for Collier’s Future Economy.
He also serves on various committees including the following: Finance, Business Retention Expansion & Attraction (BREA), Opportunity Naples Steering & Implementation, Leadership Collier Leadership Lunch. Ayers was a member of the 25th Anniversary class of Leadership Collier in 2014. In 2015, Derrick was recognized as 40 Under 40 by Gulfshore Business for his commitment to his profession and community.
Ayers moved to Naples in early 2012 with his wife and four children. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Florida, and a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a BS in Accounting.

Clark Hill arrived in Naples, Florida in 1999 to provide oversight for the construction, followed by general management of the Hilton Naples featuring Shula’s Steak House. Hilton Naples is the third hotel within parent company Cooper Hotels’ portfolio that Clark has opened and the fifth that he has managed since joining the company in 1982. Hilton Naples is a multi-award winning AAA Four Diamond rated hotel that operates with a team of 160 employees. The team has been recognized for their efforts with environmental sustainability, ethnic and cultural diversity in the workplace, community volunteering, and philanthropy.
Hill majored in Business Administration with a concentration in Industrial Relations at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and holds the designation of Certified Hotel Administrator.
He has served as a board member for several organizations including, the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Collier County, Drug Free Collier, the Collier County Lodging & Tourism Alliance, and Champions for Learning. Hill is also a member of both the Tourist Development Council and Hilton Hotels and Resorts’ Executive Roundtable.
