Thomas D. McCann, a resident and board member of Moorings Park, was named the recipient of the 2021 Sam Noe Award, which is presented by the Naples City Council each year.
Since 2006, the award has been given to a current or past member of a City of Naples’ board or committee whose exemplary service epitomizes the mission of that committee or board.
An attorney and former executive of General Foods and Bristol-Myers Squibb, McCann currently serves as the Chair of the Naples Planning Advisory Board. He’s also been active with a number of local nonprofit organizations throughout the years, including the Collier County Coastal Advisory Committee; the Conservancy of Southwest Florida; the Naples Botanical Garden; the Community Foundation of Collier County, and the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health.
The Naples City Council established the Sam Noe Award to honor Professor Samuel V. Noe who served as a member of the Planning Advisory Board from 2002 to 2006. He was also a strong supporter both of community revitalization and historic preservation.
During the presentation of the Sam Noe Award, Thomas McCann was joined by his wife Carol.
