This year, the Moorings Park Foundation has awarded $310,000 in scholarships and over $4 million since its founding.
The Moorings Park Foundation, which serves as the charitable heart of Moorings Park Communities, has awarded $310,000 in scholarships to 56 employees, lovingly referred to as partners, this year. The mission of the Foundation is to create a culture of philanthropy across the three Naples-based Moorings Park communities. This year’s scholarships exemplify the passion that Moorings Park Communities’ residents have for supporting partners in their journey to receive an education and a better quality of life.
“To me, the scholarship provided by the Moorings Park Foundation represents hope, an opportunity for a better and more secure future for myself and my daughter, and the understanding that we have a drive to succeed,” said scholarship recipient Joanna Schiavone.
“The Moorings Park Foundation scholarship has allowed me to be financially stable in college and focus on my education with less stress,” said scholarship recipient Michael Fredette. “My first year in college would have been extremely demanding if I had to work on top of volunteering and studying pre-med. This scholarship has been an absolute lifesaver for me. I can’t thank our residents enough.”
Since 1998, the Moorings Park Foundation has granted over $4 million in scholarships to partners and their family members. This support is very intentional, as these individuals play a crucial role in the lives, lifestyle, and well-being of local boomers and seniors, and the Foundation ensures that every dollar contributed makes a difference in the lives of the recipients. The Foundation provides support for the partners in other ways as well, like emergency hurricane relief, affordable housing initiatives, and educational courses.
“During my journey at Moorings Park, I’ve had the opportunity and the privilege to be a recipient of the Moorings Park Foundation,” said Executive of Successful Aging Jessica Brinkert. “I was able to complete my bachelor’s and my master’s program, which has enabled me to not only grow within our organization, but to help and to give back to all of our residents here on campus and in the greater community. Knowing that our residents believe in us… what a blessing.”
