The International Council on Active Aging® (ICAA) and NuStep, LLC recently announced that Moorings Park Communities President and CEO, Dan Lavender, has won a Pinnacle Award, which recognizes him as among the top five CEOs in the country for “Best in Wellness,” establishing him as a country-wide leader in cultivating wellness-centric senior living environments.
"As wellness continues to flourish in the industry, we are delighted to provide recognition for organizations and leaders who are making a significant impact,” says Colin Milner, founder and CEO of ICAA. “All of our esteemed award winners serve as inspiring role models, leading the way in promoting wellness for both organizations and residents.”
The Pinnacle of Senior Living Communities in North America
It was also announced that Moorings Park Grande Lake is a recipient of the ICAA NuStep Beacon Award, which is a testament to the community’s wellness excellence. In winning these awards, both Dan Lavender and Moorings Park Grande Lake have proven their dedication to establishing wellness as a fundamental principle by empowering residents to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives through a proactive successful aging model.
“These awards underscore the exciting fact that wellness is taking center stage in senior living communities,” says Jane Benskey, NuStep's Marketing Communications Specialist. “The organizations and CEOs we’re honoring recognize that the wellness model is not a static, one-size-fits-all construct. Instead, they view it as a dynamic and ever-evolving model, which demands a creative, visionary approach to meet the needs of current — and future — residents. It’s truly an exciting time in the industry.”
Each of Moorings Park Communities’ three Naples campuses have been Beacon Awards winners for their excellence in fostering wellness and promoting active aging, and this is the second year in a row that Moorings Park Grande Lake has been honored with the Pinnacle Award, reinforcing the company’s mission of providing Simply the Best® services for successful aging.
A Nation-Wide Wellness Leader
Dan Lavender has been the President and CEO of Moorings Park Communities for the past 14 years, previously serving as the organization’s Chief Financial Officer. In 2019, he was inducted into Collier County’s Business Hall of Fame, which recognized him as an outstanding entrepreneur and role model through his professional accomplishments and commitment to the SWFL community. His recognition by ICAA and NuStep as a Beacon Award winner comes as no surprise to those who know and work with him, as his dedication to Moorings Park Communities is evident through the success that the organization and its residents have seen through the years he has served as it’s leader. In addition to being one of the top wellness organizations in the country, Moorings Park Communities has consistently been recognized by Fortune Magazine as “A Great Place to Work.”
“Dan Lavender, along with our Board of Directors, has constantly pushed for innovation,” says Vice President of Moorings Park Communities Tom Mann. “Our unique communities were designed for those who demand excellence and who are searching for something other than the typical retirement community offering. Our residents are affluent, educated people who have spent their careers looking for every advantage. And now, they are looking for that advantage when it comes to successful aging. They are looking for the proverbial Fountain of Youth. That level of affluence allows us to do things that other communities simply cannot do.”
“We are constantly focused on finding ways to improve offerings to enhance the seven dimensions of wellness that foster successful aging, being physical, social, spiritual, vocational, emotional, environmental and intellectual,” says Lavender. “I can’t wait to see what the next 40 years brings to our team and senior living.”
