Four construction projects currently taking place within Moorings Park will enhance the lifestyle of every resident. Those projects include the expansion of the community’s clubhouse, the approaching completion of a luxury residential building, the redesigning of a lakeside pier and deck, and the opening of a new wood shop.
The expansion of Moorings Park’s clubhouse began in October 2016 and will increase the total square footage by approximately 35 percent.
As planned, the enhancements will include a redesigned exterior arrival and entry sequence; a new light-filled lobby with a 24-foot high ceiling and a new concierge desk; and the addition of the Park Grill, a destination-style restaurant and lounge offering indoor and outdoor dining on a climate controlled covered patio.
Additional planned changes include a new board room with enhanced acoustics, audio-visual capabilities, and lighting, as well as an adjacent serving kitchen; and a conference center with seating for 14, access to the serving kitchen, and views of a water feature at the front of the building.
The lobby will feature expansive windows that will flood the space with natural light. At night, it will be illuminated with a tiered chandelier and cove lighting. The new concierge desk, a focal point in the lobby, will welcome residents and guests alike. The lobby flooring will showcase a custom inlaid design of interlaced circles. A rich palette of silver-toned grays, deep goldenrod, and a range of blue tones, accent patterned wall coverings, artwork, live plants, and streamlined architectural moldings and columns accented with stained walnut trim.
The Park Grill is designed to offer Moorings Park’s residents, family members, and guests a new gathering place and dining experience. The use of natural materials such as stone and light, slightly rustic wood flooring, a bamboo wood ceiling, light colored shiplap paneled walls, open light spaces decorated with green plants, a vertical garden, floor-to-ceiling windows offering views of palm trees outside, and leather and linen-look seating will contribute to the space’s relaxed, casual feeling. The interior will provide seating for 122, including the lounge offering a full bar, craft beers, and wine. The lounge will be equipped with a television, fireplace, and comfortable seating where lite fare can be enjoyed throughout the day. The 32-seat covered and climate controlled patio will offer year-round outdoor dining.
As planned, the open-kitchen concept Park Grill will offer diverse dining selections ranging from center-of-the-plate grill items, fresh Asian wok dishes, brick oven pizza, pasta, and salads. The menu will rotate constantly while remaining focused on providing selections that are fresh, local, healthy, and fast.

Also under construction at Moorings Park is the new Mid-Rise II residential building, which is currently about 40 percent completed. Work on the four-story, 78,816-square-foot building, which features 18 two- and three-bedroom plus den luxury residences, began in Spring 2016.
In April, the buildings shell and roof were completed. Currently, windows and exterior doors are being installed. Interior framing and drywall has started on the second floor and will continue to the 4th floor in the next three months.
Mid-Rise II is the last of three buildings designed in the neighborhood known as Mid-Rise Residences at Moorings Park. All buildings are located within a park-like setting with expansive green spaces and gardens, with seating areas surrounded by tropical plants.
Moorings Park takes great pride in its pristine lakes, which not only provide vistas from nearly every residence, but also enhance the lives of those who walk their edges or partake in lakefront activities.
Perhaps nowhere is that more true than the North Lake next to the Garden Residences. Recently, the dock and viewing deck on the west side of the lake was replaced with a new, wider dock and deck, framed by colorful, tropical landscaping.
Approximately 200 square feet of space was added to the social gathering area, which now includes a handicap ramp, bench seating with retractable awning for shading, several tables and chairs placed in the middle of the deck, and a number stools along the deck’s railing.
Finally, Moorings Park’s residents have a new place to perform their woodworking skills. That’s because the community just opened a new wood shop, an approximately 1,250-square-foot, stand-alone building, which is larger and has more equipment than the previous wood shop which was located at the clubhouse.
The wood shop, with new work benches, can only be utilized by residents who have been trained on all the equipment. It is approximately 15 percent larger than the previous wood shop and includes a state-of-the-art dust collection system, an epoxy floor for easy clean-up, and an air conditioning system that regulates humidity and temperature.
The new machinery installed, including lathes, band saws, a 16” plainer, a 6” jointer, and an 18” horizontal drum sander, are aiding Moorings Park’s residents create handcrafted furniture, sculptures and bowls, among other wood items, some of which are showcased at the annual resident art show and at other events and venues around campus.
