The popularity of art classes at Moorings Park is evident in the numbers, as between 150 and 180 residents participate in the various classes every month. With the increase in demand for art classes, both in the art studio and the pottery room, it became readily evident that the art studio needed to be enhanced and the pottery room expanded.
That’s where resident Bobbi Tolley stepped in. Her donation made changes to the art studio and pottery room possible. For her key role in the renovation and expansion project, Bobbi’s name is now proudly displayed on a dedication plaque just outside the art studio door.
“Art is important. It’s an escape from life. It’s relaxing. It’s restful. It’s spiritual. Perhaps most importantly, it creates happy times,” she said.
Just a short walk from Orchid Terrace is the new main entrance to the recently renovated and expanded clubhouse. Thanks to resident Lenny Koor, and his wife Sally, the walk up to the entrance is a little stroll through paradise thanks to the bubbling fountain to the left of the entrance. The fountain was recently dedicated to Lenny’s parents, Joseph Solomon Koor and Ruth Koor.
Also attending the unveiling of the dedication plaque in front of the fountain was Lenny and Sally’s daughter Estie Altman, her husband, Asher, and their two children Josh and Jackie.
